Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy and want you to understand what ScrubMate does and does not collect. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information and what it means for you as a user.

1. Overview

ScrubMate is a nursing study companion app that provides vitals references, acronyms, dosage calculators, checklists, and AI-assisted study help. It is designed to work primarily on-device, with limited data collection. We do not use in-app advertising networks, and we do not sell your personal data.

2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

ScrubMate does not require you to create an in-app account or provide your name, email address, or other contact details to use core offline study features.

We do not intentionally collect:

• Your real name, unless you choose to share it for support or optional sign-in features.
• Your email address or phone number, unless you choose to contact us or sign in.
• Patient-identifying information.
• Protected health information (PHI).

Some features, such as AI-powered study helpers, involve sending text you type to our servers or a third-party AI provider so a response can be generated. Do not include real patient names, identifiers, or PHI in prompts or notes.

If you enter sensitive or personal information into on-device notes or custom fields, that data stays on your device and is under your control.

3. On-Device Data

ScrubMate may store certain information locally on your device, such as:

• Which in-app sections you have used, such as vitals, acronyms, calculators, and checklists.
• Basic progress indicators, including recent study state and completion markers.
• In-app preferences, such as selected age group and theme settings.

This local data is used to provide and improve your in-app experience. Some feature-usage and diagnostic events may also be transmitted as described in Section 4.

4. Analytics and Diagnostics

ScrubMate captures limited analytics and diagnostic data to understand usage, monitor performance, and fix issues. This may include events such as screen views, feature interactions, app session activity, crash reports, and performance metrics.

Analytics and diagnostics may include technical metadata such as app version, device model, operating system version, approximate region, and an anonymous or pseudonymous identifier. We use this information for product improvement, reliability, and abuse prevention, not for advertising profiles.

We may also receive aggregated analytics from Apple, such as installs and high-level crash trends. We do not sell analytics data or share it with third-party advertisers.

5. AI Study Helper and Cloud Processing

ScrubMate may offer optional AI-powered features, such as an AI Study Helper chat, that generate explanations, comparisons, or practice questions based on your prompts.

When you use these features, the following information may be processed:

• The text you type into the AI feature, including prompts and follow-up questions.
• The AI-generated responses returned to you.
• Basic technical metadata needed to operate the service.

This information may be securely transmitted to our servers and/or to a third-party AI service provider acting as our processor for response generation, reliability, abuse prevention, and debugging.

We do not use AI prompts or responses to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your prompts or AI conversation data.

6. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

If you choose to purchase optional Pro features or subscriptions, transactions are processed by Apple through your Apple ID account. We do not receive your full payment information, such as credit card numbers.

Apple may share limited non-identifying purchase status information so the app can unlock appropriate content. Review Apple's privacy and billing policies for full details.

7. Children's Privacy

ScrubMate is intended for users who are at least 13 years old and is generally oriented toward nursing and healthcare education. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

8. Data Shared When You Contact Us

If you choose to email us for support or feedback, we receive the information you send, such as your email address and message contents. We use this information to respond and improve the app.

9. Data Storage, Backups, and Deletion

Data stored by ScrubMate is kept on your device. Depending on personal settings, this data may be included in device backups, including iCloud Backup or backups made through your computer.

If you wish to delete ScrubMate data, you can:

• Delete the app from your device, which removes local app data.
• Delete related backups from iCloud or your computer if you do not want data to persist there.

10. Third-Party Services

ScrubMate primarily uses Apple's native frameworks and App Store infrastructure. For optional features such as AI study helpers or future cloud sync, we may use third-party service providers to process data on our behalf.

These providers are selected to handle data securely and only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We do not share personal data with advertisers or sell it to third parties.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect app functionality changes, legal requirements, or best practices.

When significant changes are made, we will update the last updated date. Continued use of ScrubMate after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
